Last Friday, MYP1 & 2 began presenting their app ideas in the Art Room for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) 2020 GetIT Competition. This is an annual competition run by Amazon, challenging students in Year 8, and in particular girls, who are underrepresented in technology, to create an app that will solve a real-world issue faced by their school or community.  The finalists, students of the top ten ideas, present to leading figures within the industry at Amazon's HQ in London and the winning idea will be built and maintained by AWS.   We were selected to the finals earlier this year so we'll be competing once again for next year.  Students are currently presenting their ideas to fellow students and members of staff so we can submit our best app ideas.
