On Saturday, 5th October, a group of intrepid MYP 1 & 2 students headed to Essex to visit the "Wild Forest Gym" obstacle training centre.
After enjoying a pre-training snack we headed into the forest for a warm up before facing a variety of obstacles, such as the quarter pipe, A-frame, monkey bars and the "high rig". Between attempting the obstacles we engaged in some very muddy team races including crawling on our hands and knees through mud pits and wriggling under a cargo net whilst all holding hands!
The water section was the highlight of the day, with challenging curved monkey bars over water (the "kingfisher"), floating "doughnuts" across a lake and finally the almighty "death-slide" which sounds (and looks!) much less fun than it really is!
I was extremely proud of the way the students encouraged and supported each other - this was remarked upon by the staff running the event! I think it is fair to say that we all came away with a great sense of achievement - well done MYP 1 & 2!
